I only slowed to read the pages that caught my attention.

The covers were assorted. Soft. Hard. Decorated. Plain. And they were different sizes.

Ninety-eight percent of the pages were handwritten. A few small pages were slid in between, folded into small squares. Those were typewritten.

Snippets of angst, genuine…

Sometimes, it’s OK to hang on.

Dark, burnt orange liquid bubbled in the bottom edges. Not in one spot anymore, but all the way around it’s wide and comforting bottom. The tiny bit of oxidized metal that was there in the beginning seems to have spread.

It’s no coincidence that it shows up around the same…
